Train Your Pet To Be A Therapy Dog
Stellar Canine Training Therapy dog Program
Therapy dog training begins with an evaluation that lasts 60-90minutes. At this evaluation we will assess your dogs current skill level and temperament for therapy work. We will also begin training the foundations at this session if your dog is ready to begin therapy dog training. This evaluation will take place at our studio and the fee for the evaluation is $190. We will be preparing you and your dog to pass evaluations and certifications such as the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluation and the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) certification.
After the evaluation we will ideally meet 3 to 4 times a month for an hour to train and prepare for the CGC and the ATD tests as well as work on public training , each of these hour long session are $130 unless we meet at the studio then they are $100. Training frequency can be varied based on your schedule, we can meet more than once a week or meet every few weeks depending on what is best for you.
Places To Volunteer After Training
You can start volunteering after you have earned your certifications. There are many ways for you and your therapy dog to volunteer and give back to the community. Here are a few common places to volunteer:
-Hospitals
-Nursing/Assisted living homes
-Library read to dog events
-Schools or Universities
